K-12 Teacher Workshop on Teaching Japanese American Internment During WW II

The Arizona Historical Society, Enduring Communities – AZ (a partnership with the Japanese American National Museum), and
ASU’s Asian Pacific American Studies present a one-day workshop:

Teaching Japanese American Internment During WWII

Lessons with direct curricula ties to Arizona Standards in U.S. and World History, U.S. and World Geography, English, Reading,
Writing, U.S. Constitution and Civic Responsibility.

Full Day:
7:15 AM to 4:00 PM
Includes box lunch, workshops (by grade), panel discussion by former internees, and tour of Internment site at Gila River Indian Community (tour from 7 am to noon).
Half Day:
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Half Day includes box lunch, workshops (by grade) and panel discussion by former internees
Fees:
Full Day: $30.00
Half Day: $20.00
Eligibility:
K-12 teachers and other interested individuals.
Registration is limited to a first-come, first serve basis.  Register today!
This workshop qualifies for Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
